Online Safety

Online Safety

We live in a world full of technology. Technology has now, more than ever before become an integral part of most people’s everyday lives, including the lives of our children. At Hasland Infant and Nursery school we are dedicated to high quality teaching of online safety and understand that this is a crucial part of keeping children safe. Online Safety is taught to all pupils regularly and is embedded in all areas of the curriculum, but primarily computing, PSHE and RSE.

By the time they leave us our children are equipped with knowledge and understanding of the online world, so that they are confident users who are able to navigate through digital platforms safely and responsibly and know what to do to stay safe.

We have security measures in place in school which are monitored internally and externally to help safeguard pupils from any potential dangers or unsuitable material. Any online safety incidents are recorded and managed.

At Hasland Infant School we teach children how to stay safe and behave appropriately online but are aware that we can only be successful in keeping children safe online if we work in partnership with parents to ensure the online message is consistent. It is essential that parents/carers speak to their children about how they can keep safe and behave appropriately online.
