Early Help and Family Support

At Hasland Infant and Nursery School, we are ambitious for every child. We are committed to providing a nurturing, happy, safe and inclusive environment where children feel valued, respected and inspired to learn. Through high expectations, positive relationships and a love of learning, we enable all children to thrive, achieve their full potential and become confident, kind and successful learners.

We recognise that children achieve their very best when they feel happy, secure and supported, both in school and at home. The nurturing role of all our staff is central to our school ethos and helps to create a caring environment where every child can develop confidence, resilience and a positive sense of belonging. We are committed to identifying and removing barriers to learning, wellbeing and attendance so that all children can fully participate in school life and flourish within our community.

We take a holistic approach to supporting our children and their families. This means that we work in partnership with parents, carers and the wider family, recognising the important role that home life, wellbeing and family circumstances play in a child's development and success. We understand that parenting can sometimes be challenging and that, from time to time, children and families may benefit from additional support.

At Hasland Infant and Nursery School, we offer a friendly welcome, a listening ear and practical guidance. We can help you identify any concerns, consider the support available and access the most appropriate services for your child, yourself or your family. By working together, we aim to ensure that every child feels safe, included, ready to learn and able to reach their full potential.

We recognise that every child and family is unique. Therefore, we carefully consider individual needs and circumstances to ensure that the right support is provided at the right time. You can feel confident approaching any member of staff for help and advice. However, if you would prefer to speak to a named member of staff, Nicki Boucher is our Family Support Worker (N.boucher@hasland-inf.derbyshire.sch.uk)
