Overview

At Hasland Infant School, we believe that every child can succeed in Maths. We follow a mastery approach to Maths where we aim to develop confident, curious and enthusiastic mathematicians who enjoy exploring numbers, patterns and problem-solving in a supportive and engaging environment. As a school, we are proud to work closely with the Maths Hub, ensuring that our teaching reflects the most effective and up-to-date approaches to mathematics education. Through professional development and collaboration with other schools, we refine our practice to provide high-quality mathematics teaching that supports all learners to achieve success.

Through our partnership with the Maths Hub, staff participated in a research project exploring the use of stories to enhance children’s mathematical understanding. 

We are particularly proud that this research has been published by the Chartered College of Teaching.
