SMSC

Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural Development (SMSC) is an important part of school life. It helps children gain the knowledge, skills and values they need to become confident, caring and responsible members of society.

At Hasland Infant and Nursery School, SMSC is woven throughout our curriculum and daily experiences. Children are encouraged to explore their own beliefs and values, understand right and wrong, build positive relationships, appreciate different cultures and celebrate diversity. Through lessons, assemblies, educational visits, themed events and everyday interactions, children learn to respect others, take responsibility for their actions and understand their role within their school, community and the wider world.

By promoting SMSC across the school, we aim to help our children achieve their potential, develop a strong sense of belonging within their community and gain the confidence, character and values needed to thrive in an ever-changing world.
