Keep Active

Join in with Joe Wicks at 9.00

In phonics we are going to recap the ‘oe’ sound.    We have found out that it can be spelt in different ways.  These include oe, o, oa, ow, o-e

Adult to dictate the sentence: Joe put on his coat and hurt his toe.

Say each word and give your child a chance to write that word. Then say the next word.  Ask them what do we start a sentence with?  What goes at the end?

See if your child can remember how to spell some high frequency words: all, come, some, for, the, I

We are learning to count in multiples of 1, 2, 5 and 10 e.g 10, 20, 30, 40, 50

  • Look carefully at the numbers you have been given
  • What are they multiples of?
  • Are the numbers getting bigger or smaller?

Complete the sheet attached or make up your own number sequences.

Go for a walk, run, bike ride

Ask your child to use their imagination and go and explore their setting.  You could pretend to sprinkle magic dust over them that transports them to their setting (see powerpoint attached).  What can they hear, smell, touch, see?  What exciting thing might happen in this setting?

Ask your child to fill out the senses sheet attached.

To match your setting to your character.

To think about what you could see, touch, smell and hear.

To think of something exciting that could happen there.

To read and check your writing makes sense.

Wash your hands and help your grown up to prepare your sandwich.
