Keep Active

Join in with Joe Wicks at 9.00

In phonics we are going to look at the ‘ea’ spelling as it can make two different sounds ‘ae’ and ‘ee’.

Adult to dictate the sentence: My great gran made me a meal with steak and bread.

Say each word and give your child a chance to write that word. Then say the next word.  Ask them what do we start a sentence with?  What goes at the end?

See if your child can remember how to spell some high frequency words: said, like, the, are, was

We are learning to tell the time to O’clock.  Remember the small hand is the hour hand and it tells you the hour.  The long hand is the minute hand.  For O’clock the big / long hand ALWAYS points to the 12.

Using the sheet attached write down the times. Use your analogue clock that you made yesterday to help you.

Challenge:  Ask your child what time it will be an hour later or an hour earlier.

“If I met my friends at 3 o’clock and I played with them for 2 hours.  What time would it be?”

Free play or just run around and burn off some energy!

Receive a message from a Julia Donaldson character (See Powerpoint attached).  Read the descriptions and decide who is being described.  Do you know these characters?  Do you know what stories they have come from?

Make up your own character thinking about what makes a good character (try to fit in with Julia Donaldson books e.g. animal,  boy, girl, Prince, Princess, King, Queen, elf, fairy, giant).

To think about what your character will look like.

To think about what your characters personality is like.

To use adjectives

Wash your hands and help your grown up to prepare your sandwich.

Make a rainbow using skittles and hot water.  You can make different shapes by putting the skittles in different patterns. Take a photo to show us.
