Maths:

This week we are learning to count in different multiples.  Count in 1’s, 2’s, 5’s and 10’s forward and back from any number.

Challenge: Count backwards in multiples of 1, 2, 5 and 10.

Playtime:

Skip using a skipping rope if you have one.  Otherwise have a go at skipping, jumping, jogging, hopping, side stepping, balancing etc

 

Literacy:

Receive another message from Stick Man (Powerpoint attached). Look at your list of possible settings from yesterday. Today you are going to have a go at creating your own setting. Your setting is going to be somewhere that your character is going to go to have an adventure.

 

Draw the setting for your story with lots of detail.

Remember: To think carefully about where your setting is going to be.

To include as much detail in your picture as possible.

To make sure your setting matches your character

Lunch:

Wash your hands and help your grown up to make your sandwich!

Gardening / Science: Grow your own Sunflower

Chesterfield Borough Council is launching a new competition for residents called Chesterfield’s Still Blooming that aims to find the best sunflowers in the borough.


There are three categories for which participants can be awarded:

  1. Tallest sunflower - from the top of the soil to the top of the flower (please make sure your picture is taken next to a tape measure).
  2. Largest sunflower - the largest flower head based on diameter or width (please make sure your picture is taken next to a ruler or tape measure).
  3. Most flowers on one plant– the plant with the most flower heads (please try to make sure all flower heads are visible in your photo).
  4.  

To enter, please send a picture of your sunflower, stating your name and the category you want to enter to green.spaces@chesterfield.gov.uk
