Why do we do it?
We have raised funds for numerous projects including

All our funds are used to enhance the children’s learning and experiences at our school. Everyone is welcome to attend our meetings, which are very informal. We always need new members and all help is much appreciated. If you think you could help, no matter how little (whether it is helping to plan and run the events or doing things at home) please contact the school.
On the 20th of September Hasland Infant School proudly unveiled their beautifully refurbished library.
The school invited governors and representatives from the Parents, Teachers, Friends Association and the Hasmoor Grassland Big Local Lottery Fund to come along. The library was officially opened when chairperson of the Big Local, Steven Wright cut the ribbon to allow the guests to enter the room.
There has been a huge amount of effort put into fundraising for the library. The PTFA raised £10,000 and then approached the Big Local for a grant for £2000 to help with the cost of the new books. Three school children were chosen to go along to a local book depot and choose the new books. The children were also present on opening day to let everyone know how much they love the new room.
The library was designed by Book Space and truly is a beautiful place for children to develop a passion for reading. The design includes secret nooks for reading peacefully as well as a ‘tree house’ where the children can sit in small groups to enjoy books together.
Headteacher Alison Wain and chair of governors Barbara Arrandale both gave their thanks to all the fundraisers involved and expressed how lucky they felt that the community had come together to achieve such an amazing result.
Thank you to the Friends of Hasland Infant School. They have kindly given £1,500 towards new books for the children and £1,500 towards small world equipment.
