Attention all Wonderful Writers

 

This term we launched Word Aware, which is an exciting way to interest children in words and to build their vocabulary.  As part of this we had an special assembly where teachers and teaching assistants shared their poems.  In the classrooms we have discovered and discussed new and exciting words in more depth, which have been put into a ‘Wonderful Word Pot’.   The children loved ‘NO PENS Wednesday’ as we used a range of resources and materials instead of pens. 

 

You might have spotted we had footprints leading to the playground with words relating to playtime, these were all generated by the children and they enjoyed following them outside.

 

The poetry and Wonderful Word competition has been a great success and we have been blown away by the wonderful entries.  It was extremely hard to choose winners as everyone had worked so hard and every single entry was fantastic, however, we did have to pick winners and these are…
