We have all been very excited about science week! Lots of different science related activities were organised and there was something happening somewhere in school every day.
We were supported once again by Derbyshire STEM ambassadors but in addition we were lucky enough to have 7 science sessions lead by parents. Huge thanks go to Michelle Hawkins, Katie Pearson, Jane Watts, Tracy Struggles, Katharine Madin, Emma (Mrs Hawkins’ colleague from the Health and Safety Executive), Lisa Slater and Mr Cragg (who doesn’t have a child in school but does have a wife in school!).
The children loved every minute and of course these experiences cannot happen without the support of our parents so of course huge thanks also go to all the parents who came along to help in the classrooms making rockets, launching rockets, making cars, testing noise boxes, investigating forces, making rain gauges, investigating hearts and muscles, talking about fossils or experimenting with food.
